Overcome your speaking jitters and make an impact!
Do you get speaking jitters?
You’ve been asked to speak for a reason. You should feel anxious if you are called to do something you don’t know. Go ahead. Get nervous when you are asked to play a trombone solo. But when you have an opportunity to speak, view it as your chance to make an impact on the world.
If your nerves start kicking in, start believing! Ask yourself this: Can anyone else do what I do the way I do it? How will they get my message if I don’t share it? Own what you know!
Show your passion for your subject
If you show your passion about your talk, the audience will feel it, too. If you look and sound nervous, they feel nervous for you.
You want them to feel full of power to do what you are asking them to do. Show your power. They will show theirs, too.
